Acceptance of terms

By creating an account and using MySynapse you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree do not use MySynapse.

Who may use MySynapse

MySynapse is intended for use by parents and guardians of school-age children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Student accounts are created and managed by parents — students do not enter into a separate agreement with MySynapse.

Beta program

MySynapse is currently in private beta. Beta access is by invitation only. Features, pricing, and availability may change during the beta period. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue access at any time during beta without notice.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account contact us immediately at mysynapse.io/contact.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use MySynapse for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

AI-generated content disclaimer

MySynapse uses artificial intelligence to generate lesson suggestions, project prompts, and curriculum guidance. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions
• AI-generated content is not a substitute for professional educational, medical, or therapeutic advice
• Parent review of all AI-generated content is your responsibility
• MySynapse makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated output
• You assume full responsibility for how AI-generated content is used in your child's education

Educational content

MySynapse provides tools to support homeschool planning. We do not provide curriculum, make educational decisions, or guarantee educational outcomes. All curriculum decisions remain with the parent.

Transcripts and records

Transcripts and academic records generated by MySynapse are based on data you enter. MySynapse does not verify the accuracy of entered data. You are responsible for the accuracy of all records generated through the platform. MySynapse makes no representations regarding the legal acceptance of generated transcripts by any educational institution.

Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time directly from your account settings. Upon deletion all associated data will be permanently removed including parent credentials, student profiles, curriculum data, completion records, PBL notes, and generated transcripts. Deleted data cannot be recovered. If you experience difficulty deleting your account contact us at mysynapse.io/contact.

No sale of data

MySynapse does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information under any circumstances. Your data is used solely to provide the MySynapse service.

Intellectual property

MySynapse and its content, features, and functionality are owned by MySynapse and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of MySynapse without written permission.

Content you create

You retain ownership of all curriculum data, lesson notes, and student records you create in MySynapse. By using MySynapse you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the service.

Privacy

Your use of MySynapse is also governed by our Privacy Policy which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference.

Disclaimers

MySynapse is provided 'as is' without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law MySynapse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MySynapse from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these terms.

Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.

Changes to terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes by email. Continued use of MySynapse after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
