Who we are

MySynapse is a homeschool planning platform built for neurodivergent learners, operated by MySynapse ("we," "us," or "our"), based in California. MySynapse is a DBA — legal entity information will be updated upon formal registration.

What we collect

We collect the following information when you create an account and use MySynapse:

• Parent name and email address
• Student first name and grade level
• Learning profile information you choose to provide (neurodivergent profile, accommodations)
• Curriculum and lesson data you enter
• Completion records and progress data
• Zone of Regulation check-ins
• Project-based learning notes and journals
• Device and usage data for platform improvement

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the MySynapse platform
• Generate AI-powered lesson suggestions and learning prompts
• Track student progress and generate transcripts
• Send account-related communications
• Respond to support requests

AI-generated content

MySynapse uses artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic) to generate suggested lesson steps, PBL prompts, and curriculum guidance. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Parent review of all AI-generated content is always recommended. MySynapse does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI-generated output.

How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — ever. We share data only with the following infrastructure providers necessary to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
• Anthropic — AI processing (lesson suggestions and prompts only; no identifying student information is sent)
• Vercel — hosting infrastructure

We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketers under any circumstances.

Children's privacy

MySynapse is designed for use by parents on behalf of their minor children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Student accounts are created and managed by parents. Parents are responsible for all information entered about their children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections, row-level security on all database tables, and strict access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We are committed to protecting your family's data and will notify you promptly of any security incident affecting your account.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account all associated data is permanently deleted including parent account credentials, student profiles, curriculum and lesson data, completion records, PBL project notes and journals, and generated transcripts. Some data may be retained briefly in backups before permanent deletion.

Your right to delete

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from your account settings. No request or waiting period required. Once deleted your data cannot be recovered. If you experience any difficulty deleting your account contact us at mysynapse.io/contact and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Delete your account and all associated data directly from account settings at any time
• Opt out of non-essential communications
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

California residents

If you are a California resident you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information under any circumstances. For CCPA requests or questions contact us at mysynapse.io/contact.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes by email. Continued use of MySynapse after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
